Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find the answer you need? Contact us and we'll be happy to help.

Who is eligible for a free NHS home eye test?

You qualify if you are unable to leave your home unaccompanied due to a physical or mental illness or disability. This includes many elderly patients, those with mobility issues, severe anxiety or complex care needs. If you are unsure, contact us and we will advise you.

How long does an eye test take?

A standard eye test takes around 30–45 minutes. If you also want to choose new glasses, allow a little extra time. We never rush — we take as long as needed to ensure you receive thorough, unhurried care.

What areas do you cover?

We cover Dewsbury, Batley, Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Castleford, Pontefract, Morley, Ossett, Mirfield and surrounding areas across West and South Yorkshire.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us. If we identify any clinical concerns during your eye test, we will write to your GP or refer you to an NHS ophthalmologist on your behalf.

Can you visit care homes and nursing homes?

Yes — we provide a dedicated visiting service for care homes, nursing homes and supported living facilities. We can set up regular scheduled clinics and are experienced in working with residents with dementia and complex needs.
